Toronto police have announced the charging of seven additional individuals for unlawfully operating drones above Rogers Centre during the Blue Jays’ post-season baseball matches. The Toronto Emergency Management and Public Order Unit recently utilized specialized drone technology to detect and intercept seven unauthorized drone flights over and around the baseball stadium during the games held on Sunday and Monday. Seven individuals faced eight charges for contravening Canadian Aviation Regulations and breaching federally designated no-fly areas. According to the drone policy at Rogers Centre, the stadium falls within the no-fly zone of the nearby Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Earlier this month, two individuals were fined for flying drones over the stadium during games. The Blue Jays will be playing at home on Sunday for Game 6 against the Seattle Mariners in the American League Championship Series.
