Blue Jays president Mark Shapiro and general manager Ross Atkins expressed lingering disappointment over falling just short of a World Series victory. Reflecting on the 5-4 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 7, Atkins acknowledged it wasn’t the desired outcome but highlighted the team’s overall progress. After finishing last in the AL East last year, the Blue Jays staged an impressive comeback, clinching 94 wins to claim the division title and top seed in the AL.

The team’s postseason journey saw them break a nine-year playoff victory drought by defeating the New York Yankees in the AL Division Series and the Seattle Mariners in a thrilling seven-game AL Championship Series. Despite the heartbreaking loss in an intense 11-inning World Series finale, Shapiro praised the team’s resilience and ability to perform under pressure.

As the offseason begins, the Blue Jays have extended a qualifying offer to standout player Bo Bichette, signaling their intent to retain the talented shortstop. With notable free agents like Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt in the mix, decisions loom for the team. However, the return of key players like Shane Bieber provides stability, setting the stage for a potential repeat performance in 2026.

The team’s chemistry and camaraderie were evident throughout the season, with strong performances from players like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and breakout stars Addison Barger and Nathan Lukes. Looking ahead, the Blue Jays aim to build on their solid foundation and strive for a long-awaited World Series victory in the upcoming season.

Additionally, bench coach Don Mattingly will not be returning next season, while updates on player injuries and contract negotiations hint at an eventful offseason. With spring training scheduled for mid-February in Florida, fans eagerly anticipate the team’s quest for success in the upcoming season.
