Algoma Steel’s CEO, Michael Garcia, expressed challenges faced by the company due to the significant tariffs imposed by the U.S., affecting their access to the American market. Despite the obstacles, Garcia sees potential growth opportunities in the Canadian market, especially with the government’s Buy Canadian policy gaining momentum.
In response to new tariffs announced by Trump, New Brunswick is contemplating retaliatory measures, particularly concerning softwood lumber exports.
