Grammy and Juno award-winning artist Chantal Kreviazuk is marking the one-year milestone of the Los Angeles wildfires with a new song titled “All the Walls Came Down,” featured in the Oscar-shortlisted documentary of the same name.

The documentary, released today, can be streamed through the LA Times website. Kreviazuk unveiled a lyric video for the track, a collaboration with the film’s composer, Morgan Doctor.

Reflecting on the tragedy’s anniversary, Kreviazuk expressed her ongoing disbelief at the impact it has left on many individuals. She shared that creating and recording the song had been a therapeutic experience for her and hoped that both the song and the documentary would aid the healing process of the affected community.

Directed by American filmmaker Ondi Timoner, who herself lost her residence in the fires, the documentary captures the journey of Timoner and her neighbors as they reconstruct their lives and deal with displacement.

Timoner explained that “All the Walls Came Down” originated from a necessity to comprehend the catastrophic event and narrate the collective story of the community rather than focusing on her personal narrative. She emphasized that the film symbolizes more than just the fire; it signifies transformation and unity within the community during a time of crisis.

The documentary “All the Walls Came Down” made it to the shortlist in the documentary short film category for the 2026 Oscars, with the final nominations set to be revealed on January 22nd.
