Flavor Flav, at the age of 66, experienced the thrill of sliding at a speed of 106 kilometers per hour, sparking his newfound passion for the sport. The iconic member of Public Enemy and reality TV personality has joined forces with the United States bobsled and skeleton program as their official hype man. Following his recent visit to the 2002 Olympic track in Utah, Flav expressed his excitement about accompanying the team to the upcoming Milan-Cortina Olympics in February.

During his time with the bobsled and skeleton teams, Flav took on the challenge of descending the Park City track in a bobsled and later tried his hand at skeleton, a high-speed sliding sport where athletes can reach speeds exceeding 129 km/h. Despite initial safety precautions recommending a lower starting point, Flav insisted on beginning from a higher position, showcasing his determination and skill by reaching speeds of up to 108 km/h on his second run.

Known for his involvement in various sports events, Flav has previously served as a celebrity mayo-pourer at the Duke’s Mayo Bowl and made appearances during Super Bowl weeks. His support extends to Olympians, such as discus thrower Veronica Fraley, and he has also served as the official hype man for the U.S. women’s water polo team during the Paris Olympics.

U.S. skeleton athlete Dan Barefoot commended Flav’s adventurous spirit and natural talent for the sport, emphasizing the positive impact of his presence on the team dynamics. The energetic atmosphere surrounding Flav has united team members and instilled confidence as they prepare for upcoming competitions.

As an official sponsor and hype man for USA Bobsled and Skeleton, Flavor Flav’s genuine passion for sports and unwavering support for the team has been warmly welcomed by CEO Aron McGuire. His dedication and enthusiasm mirror the values upheld by the athletes, promising an exciting collaboration that will resonate with fans across the nation.
