Toronto Blue Jays’ outfielder George Springer is expected to return to the starting lineup for Game 6 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Blue Jays manager John Schneider mentioned that Springer has met the necessary physical requirements to play in the crucial game, with Toronto currently leading the series 3-2. Schneider emphasized the importance of ensuring Springer’s comfort and readiness to compete effectively in the upcoming match.

Springer, 36, who has primarily served as a designated hitter this season, sat out the previous game due to discomfort from earlier injuries sustained during the postseason. Despite being close to playing in Game 5, Schneider opted to give him additional rest for a more complete recovery. Throughout the playoffs, Springer has displayed resilience, hitting .246 with four home runs and nine RBIs.

Both teams conducted optional workouts at Rogers Centre following their return to Canada, with Schneider providing insights at a news conference. The Blue Jays faced a hectic morning due to early travel, arriving just in time for the rush hour traffic. Schneider shared his experience of waiting for his family, engaging in recovery activities, and reflecting on the upcoming game.

In a potential Game 7 scenario, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is contemplating utilizing Shohei Ohtani as an opener or outfielder, considering his versatility as a two-way player. Ohtani’s recent performance as a pitcher and designated hitter has presented strategic challenges for the Dodgers, with Roberts exploring various options to maximize Ohtani’s impact on the field.

Roberts highlighted the need to assess all possibilities for the upcoming games, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to secure a favorable outcome. Ohtani’s unique skill set as a hitter and pitcher adds a dynamic dimension to the Dodgers’ tactical planning, requiring careful consideration of his role in critical game situations.
