Joni Mitchell and Nelly Furtado are set to be recognized at the upcoming 55th Juno Awards in Hamilton in March. The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) and CBC revealed that Mitchell will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by the National Arts Centre, while Furtado will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during the 2026 Juno Awards at Hamilton’s newly opened TD Coliseum.

Mitchell, a four-time Juno winner, will be acknowledged for her influential career spanning decades and her significant impact on global music culture. Furtado’s Hall of Fame induction will celebrate her long-standing success on the charts, multiple Juno, Grammy, and Latin Grammy wins, and her influence on the pop music scene since the early 2000s. She joins the ranks of recent inductees like Sum 41, Maestro Fresh Wes, Nickelback, Deborah Cox, and Jann Arden.

The Juno Awards are making a return to Hamilton after ten years, with local favorites Arkells headlining the event. Also taking the stage will be Toronto’s own the Beaches. The Arkells, with nine Juno wins since 2010, and the Beaches, winning all five nominations since 2018, are established Juno favorites.

CARAS president and CEO Allan Reid expressed, “Hamilton has always been a city that lives and breathes music. To return here with an incredible lineup featuring Joni Mitchell and Nelly Furtado, two of Canada’s most influential artists, is a fitting tribute to our country’s rich musical heritage.”

In addition, the Junos and MusiCounts announced a collaboration for a special industry exchange, connecting 10 music educators with 10 local musicians from Hamilton for community-building and hands-on learning opportunities.

The 2026 Juno Awards are scheduled for March 29 at 8 p.m. ET in Hamilton at the TD Coliseum. Ticket sales will commence on November 28 at 10 a.m. ET, with an early-access pre-sale code (CBCMUSIC) available for use on November 27 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online.
