The Ottawa Redblacks have appointed a new head coach and general manager. Ryan Dinwiddie, who led the Toronto Argonauts to two Grey Cup championships in five seasons, will now lead the team, replacing Bob Dyce. Dyce was dismissed after Ottawa ended the season with a 4-14 record, failing to qualify for the CFL playoffs.

In addition to taking on coaching responsibilities, Dinwiddie will also serve as the general manager. This change comes as Shawn Burke, who was previously hired as the GM in December 2021, has been promoted to the role of vice-president of football operations for the club.

Dinwiddie’s move to Ottawa represents a step up from his previous position with the Argos, allowing him to transition to the new role. The Redblacks have struggled in recent years, missing the CFL playoffs in five of the past six seasons following their defeat to the Calgary Stampeders in the 2018 Grey Cup.
