Vancouver’s Women’s Professional Hockey League franchise has officially added Nina Jobst-Smith, Brianna Brooks, and Madison Samoskevich to their roster, the team disclosed on Tuesday. Jobst-Smith, hailing from North Vancouver, B.C., was chosen in the third round, 19th overall, during the 2025 PWHL Draft. The 24-year-old defenseman served as captain for the University of Minnesota-Duluth in the 2024-25 season, tallying 18 points (three goals and 15 assists) and securing All-WCHA Second Team recognition.

Brooks, a 23-year-old forward from Whitby, Ont., was selected in the fourth round as the 32nd overall pick from Penn State. She achieved a career-best 32 points with the Nittany Lions and was honored with a spot on the All-CHA Second Team in 2023-24.

Samoskevich, picked in the fifth round as the 39th overall selection, accumulated 84 points (19 goals and 65 assists) across 168 games at Quinnipiac University. The 22-year-old from Sandy Hook, Conn., made a position transition from defense to forward in her final year of NCAA competition. Jobst-Smith inked a two-year deal, while Brooks and Samoskevich signed one-year contracts.

Vancouver and Seattle are set to debut in the PWHL as expansion teams for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
