Ann-Renee Desbiens made 26 saves to guide Montreal Victoire to a 1-0 victory over Vancouver Goldeneyes in the recent Professional Women’s Hockey League match. This marked Desbiens’ third career shutout in the PWHL.
The only goal of the game was scored by Nicole Gosling for Montreal (4-2-0-4, 16 points), finding the back of the net at 12:17 of the second period, securing her first goal of the season. Vancouver (3-1-1-7, 12 points) saw Emerance Maschmeyer making 25 saves in the game.
In another thrilling encounter, Ottawa Charge clinched a 2-1 win over Boston Fleet in a shootout, with Katerina Mrazova scoring the decisive goal. The shootout also witnessed goals from Fanuza Kadirova and Brianne Jenner for Ottawa (3-4-0-5, 17 points), while Hannah Brandt and Jamie Lee Rattray responded for Boston (7-0-2-2, 23 points).
Susanna Tapani put Boston in the lead with her fourth goal of the season at 3:01 of the first period, but Jenner equalized for Ottawa with her seventh goal at 6:48 of the third period. Aerin Frankel, the goalie for Boston, made 17 saves, while Ottawa’s Sanni Ahola stopped 31 shots during the game.
