Man Fatally Struck by SkyTrain in Vancouver Tragedy

A tragic incident occurred at the Main Street-Science World Station in Vancouver on Friday when a man was fatally struck by a SkyTrain in what authorities believe was an accidental event. The Metro Vancouver Transit Police responded to the scene shortly after 8 p.m. where they found the man in a critical condition. Despite efforts from first responders, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Authorities have indicated that the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are not suspicious, and there is no suspicion of criminal activity. According to a statement, the police do not believe it was a suicide attempt but rather an unfortunate accident. Following the incident, the SkyTrain station was temporarily closed for over four hours to allow for police investigations and the arrival of the coroner.

B.C. Emergency Health Services confirmed that two ambulances were dispatched to the scene, but no individuals required hospitalization.
