Fans of Celebrity Big Brother are sure Chris Hughes’ letter from home had a hidden message regarding JoJo Siwa. The former Love Island contestant, 32, and reality TV star, 21, have formed a strong bond in the famous ITV house, with many questioning their friendship.
Now, ahead of the final, viewers were adamant Chris’ mum left him a secret note in her letter to him. As the famous faces took it in turns to read notes from their loved ones, Chris became emotional when it come to mum Valerie’s letter.
Former Dance Moms star JoJo was tasked with reading it out loud to the house. It read: “Dear Chris, I just wanted you to know at how proud we are at the way you are handling yourself in the Big Brother house.
“We applaud you for standing up for what is right like you always do. From this you have formed a beautiful friendship with JoJo, sadly from observation you have ruffled a few feathers. You have always been a sensitive soul and this has become apparent when you broke down in the Diary Room.”
It continued: “You have so much to give and sadly many people don’t understand your sense of humour but it’s good to see that you have made some people laugh like you do at home and that’s what it’s really all about.
“You hate people making snide remarks with their negativity. Gosh seeing you in the play pen brought back a few memories, it was a hilarious.”
Valerie concluded: “You said at the launch how you wanted to ‘make me proud’ – undoubtedly you have. We are sending you love and hugs, take care, love you always mum.”
While Chris was overcome with emotion from the touching letter, fans of the show were quick to voice their thoughts on a hidden agenda from Valerie. Taking to Twitter/X fans were keen to point out how they thought Valerie was telling Chris JoJo is his only real friend in the house.
One user wrote: “Chris mum’s letter was defo reminding people that JoJo has been the only one who has been on Chris’ side.”
Another hinted that the letter appeared to “guide an audience recap” to remind that JoJo has “been there for Chris while the others haven’t”.
And the opinion was echoed by a third. However, they weren’t sure the comments were necessary and wrote: “Anyone think Chris’s letter from home was a bit weird? Like getting in the sentence about snide remarks and stuff? #CBBUK #cbb.”
Ahead of the final fans JoJo’s mum also wade in on the pair’s budding companionship. Jessalynn has seemingly given her seal of approval to their intimate bond after re-sharing a video which describes the duo as the “closest love story to Titanic yet”.
She shared the clip JoJo and Chris dancing from the Celebrity Big Brother livestream, which had the caption: “JoJo and Chris are so giving me Jack and Rose vibes. She’s the rich one who has fell in love with someone who is lower class than her and she has probably never had this much fun in her life.
“This is definitely the closest love story to titanic yet.”
