After a whirlwind few days in the Celebrity Big Brother house, the Mirror understands Mickey Rourke won’t be attending tonight’s live final. The Hollywood actor, 72, caused chaos during his short-lived stint in the house, clashing with housemates, receiving warnings from Big Brother, and ultimately being removed from the show for “inappropriate language and unacceptable behaviour”.
Mickey’s time in the house began with controversy as he made headlines for grabbing host AJ Odudu during his entrance. What followed included a series of outbursts that saw him insult multiple housemates, reduce Patsy Palmer to tears over her cooking, and direct a homophobic slur at JoJo Siwa.
Just days later, tensions peaked during a pirate-themed task when Mickey reportedly lost his temper with Chris, calling him a “c***” for “side-eyeing him”. ITV swiftly confirmed his departure from the show.
Since leaving the series, Mickey has returned to Los Angeles – where he claimed not to know who JoJo Siwa was when a photographer asked if the actor had anything to say to her.
It remains unclear whether ITV formally invited Mickey to the final and he declined the offer, or he was not invited. Just days after his exit, it was reported Mickey is preparing to sue ITV after being told he may not receive the full £500,000 fee he was promised.
His representative, Kimberly Hines, told TMZ that Mickey’s team is speaking with UK lawyers and “weighing a lawsuit” against the broadcaster. She also claimed Mickey was sent packing just before becoming “contractually eligible” for a significant fee increase and is now being saddled with extra costs — including a £50,000 hotel bill for his team’s stay in London.
According to Hines, ITV will only reimburse up to £230 a night. She added that Mickey was “sent to the airport with barely a ride”.
A source told The Sun : “Mickey won’t be receiving all his money from ITV. If a celebrity is removed from the house, they don’t get the full fee. It’s as simple as that, and they will be discussing that with him.
“Mickey was ready to leave the house and it ended up feeling like a mutual decision between him and ITV in the end. It was getting too much.”
Fans had already expressed concerns over Mickey’s behaviour in the house, with one insider previously saying: “The production team are concerned Mickey is going to push it too far. He’s completely off the scale and not calming down.”
Other housemates seem to be aware that Mickey will not be present at the final, as just this morning Ella Rae Wise told Ranvir Singh she is ‘glad she never has to see him again’ while on Lorraine.
The former TOWIE star, who was reduced to tears by a sexual comment Mickey made to her on CBB, said: “I just didn’t appreciate it and that’s all it was. For me, I just had distance from Mickey and that was ok and at the end of the day, it’s just one of those things I didn’t appreciate. I’m glad I’ve never got to see him again. I think a few of us do feel that way.”
