Nicole Scherzinger looked amazing as she posed for photos on the red carpet at the Time100 Gala in New York City. The singer, who has been named in the Time 100 list, donned a stunning black gown featuring an off-the-shoulder velvet and satin top paired with a chunky bracelet, rings and chandelier-style earrings.
She styled her hair in loose waves and wore simple but flawless make-up. The 46-year-old, who was a member of the Pussycat Dolls between 2003 and 2010, is one of the 100 highlighted figures alongside the likes of Nikki Glaser, Serena Williams, Simone Biles and Blake Lively.
The Gala was hosted by Snoop Dogg, with Ed Sheeran and Myles Smith performing at the event. Nicole’s attendance at the major event in NYC on Thursday came just one day after she was praised by theatregoers for taking matters into her own hands when Broadway’s Sunset Boulevard was unexpectedly cancelled at the last minute due to technical issues.
Nicole, who plays Norma Desmond in the show, still sang for the audience through a megaphone that stage management had on hand – and stunned the public with her rendition of With One Look.
In a video shared on social media, the singer and actress could be seen announcing the cancellation from the stage with her co-star Tom Francis. Then, after grabbing her phone from backstage to play a backing track, plus a bullhorn, Nicole, said: “I don’t know how this is going to sound, but at least it’s from the heart. And you know what? It’s a once in lifetime kind of performance.”
Nicole was met with applause from the audience and was also praised by fans online. While attending the Gala last night, she was asked about the incident by TIME magazine and said: “I’d never gone through anything like this before. But right before the show, they were like, we have no sound. There’s a technical difficulty.
“There’s just absolutely no sound. So we’re like, what do we do? So Tom Francis and myself go down with our stage manager, Johnny, to make the announcement.” Nicole said that seeing the disappointment in the audience when the show was cancelled gave her the idea of performing for them through the megaphone.
She explained: “I heard this sigh of sadness and my heart broke into a million pieces. So literally my heart was pounding and all I was thinking is like, what can I do? These people have come to see our show. I don’t want them going home empty-handed. I want to give them at least a sliver of this experience.”
That’s when she decided to sing, adding that she “cared so deeply that I reached everyone in the audience.” While the afternoon show was cancelled, the issue was resolved by the evening.
Nicole was honoured as one of the 100 most influential people of 2025 by Patti LuPone, a 76-year-old actress and singer who started her professional career in 1972 and soon gained fame for her performances on Broadway and on the West End. The Grammy-winning actress described Nicole as “courageous, audacious”, saying: “I didn’t know what to expect from Jamie Lloyd’s explosive reimagining of Sunset Boulevard.
“While my experience with the show may not be totally objective, I feel Mr. Lloyd stripped the musical of its bloat, of its too-careful re-creation of the film – and in doing so set a theatrical pace that was exhilarating. Then there was Nicole Scherzinger: courageous, audacious, mesmerising, elegantly beautiful, and ultimately heartbreaking. Her mad scene alone is worth the price of admission. I left the theatre energised.
“And it’s made all the more stunning by watching her transition from a pop singer to a bona fide Broadway star. All audiences want is to be assured the actors onstage are in command. From Nicole’s first entrance, I sat back in my seat and happily gave her my complete and undivided attention. I was riveted. Brava, Diva.”
Reflecting on Patti’s words, Nicole said they were “everything” she could dream of, adding: “She means so much to me. She’s a legend, and I’m eternally grateful to the queen herself.”
