Walkers has confirmed that one of its most beloved flavours will be making a return next week – but – there is a major catch.
The British crisp giant caused a stir online this week after hinting that the discontinued Worcester Sauce flavour would be coming back. The rumour mill began when Walker’s X – formerly Twitter – account started replying to old posts from fans who were mourning the loss of the flavour, which was axed back in 2022.
Fans of the flavour took to social media to share their upset at the time, and this week, Walkers replied to these posts. One X user wrote back in 2023: “You made a grave error dropping Worcester Sauce, and I hope this hits your profits HARD.” But just this week, the Walkers account replied, saying, ” Keep your eyes peeled on your DMs.”
One fan who couldn’t believe the news said: “They better not be playing with my heart like this, I lost a piece of my soul when they stopped production of those bad boys.”
Today, Walkers confirmed that Worcester Sauce will be coming back to the UK for a limited time only. In fact, it will only be returning for one day, Tuesday, March 4. Alongside this catch, there is another major one: They will only be sold in Worcester – in fact, in only one store – Charlie’s Convenience Store on 59 Barbourne Road in the city.
The return comes through a new partnership between Walkers and Lea & Perrins Worcester Sauce. Fans were exstatic to hear the news of the return. One X user wrote: “@walkers_crisps bringing back the Worcester sauce flavour I’ve been waiting years for this moment I literally brought the m and s ones yesterday but you can’t beat the original walkers.”
Another user wrote: “Liverpool are winning the league and Walkers are bringing back Worcester Sauce flavour. Never kill yourself.” The crisp will go on sale at the convenience store at 10am on Tuesday, March 4 and once they are gone they are gone says Walkers.
