Free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has agreed to a six-game suspension imposed by the NFL for reportedly failing a performance-enhancing drug test last year, as revealed during his appearance on the Pivot podcast. The league confirmed that Beckham will be sidelined until Week 12.
During the podcast, the 32-year-old Beckham maintained his innocence, denying any intentional use of performance-enhancing substances. His stint with the Miami Dolphins in the previous season saw him play only nine games, recording career-low statistics of nine receptions for 55 yards.
Despite the setback, the seasoned 10-year NFL player expressed his desire to continue playing this season. Known for his distinguished early career with the New York Giants, where he achieved four 1,000-yard seasons in his first five years after being selected in the first round of the 2014 draft, Beckham’s journey led him to the Cleveland Browns in 2019 and eventually to the Los Angeles Rams in 2021.
Beckham contributed to the Rams’ Super Bowl victory in 2021, although he suffered an ACL injury during the game. Throughout his NFL tenure, Beckham has amassed 575 catches for 7,987 yards, ranking 119th in all-time NFL history for receiving yards.
