Canadian Music Hall of Fame Welcomes New Inductees

Following the inductions of Maestro Fresh Wes and Sum 41 at the 2024 and 2025 Juno Awards, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) has announced the latest additions to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Dan Hill, renowned for his smash hit “Sometimes When We Touch,” along with Ginette Reno, a prominent figure in Quebecois chanson, rock group Glass Tiger, and harpist and singer-songwriter Loreena McKennitt, have been welcomed into the prestigious Canadian Music Hall of Fame alongside the previously honored rap artist and punk-rock band.

The induction ceremony took place on May 15 at Studio Bell in Calgary, with eight-time JUNO Award winner Paul Brandt serving as the host. The event featured performances by the new inductees and appearances by notable figures in Canadian music and pop culture, including a special video message from Céline Dion. The 2025 Canadian Music Hall of Fame Ceremony will be broadcast on Oct. 23 on CBC Gem and CBC Music’s YouTube.

Allan Reid, CARAS president and CEO, expressed gratitude for inducting these exceptional artists, emphasizing their significant influence on shaping the Canadian cultural landscape. He highlighted the commitment to recognizing more Canadian talents and their musical legacies in the future.

Notable past inductees into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame include Oliver Jones, Terri Clark, Alanis Morissette, Anne Murray, Gordon Lightfoot, Blue Rodeo, and Deborah Cox.
