Certain models of Vesta tankless hot water heaters have been recalled due to concerns about carbon monoxide exposure. Vesta, Health Canada, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission jointly issued the recall following instances of cracked exhaust ducts that could lead to the escape of harmful gases indoors, posing a serious risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Health Canada advises homeowners with these heaters to cease use immediately and contact Vesta for a complimentary repair by a certified technician.

The recall pertains to all VRS and VRP models, as well as specific VRS-Plus and VRP-Plus models. Vesta disclosed that 3,496 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between May 2017 and July 2025. To date, there have been 10 reports of cracked exhaust ducts in Canada and 33 in the United States, with no injuries or fatalities reported.

Customers can reach Vesta for assistance by phone at 1-888-505-5525 during business hours or via email at condensingwaterheater@realtimeresults.net. They can also visit the company’s website for further information. Health Canada encourages consumers to report any health or safety incidents associated with the use of the product.
