Nelly Furtado is set to join the prestigious ranks of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the upcoming 55th Juno Awards on March 29. The induction will honor her remarkable musical journey, which took off with her debut album “Whoa, Nelly!” in 2000. Known for hits like “I’m Like a Bird,” “Promiscuous,” and “Maneater,” Furtado has amassed a collection of Juno, Grammy, and Latin Grammy accolades throughout her career.

A star-studded lineup including Alessia Cara, Jully Black, Shawn Desman, Tanya Tagaq, and surprise guests will pay tribute to Furtado with a medley of her greatest hits during the Juno Awards broadcast. Leading the performance will be Furtado’s longtime musical director, Herag Sanbalian.

At the event, Furtado will be honored alongside music legend Joni Mitchell, who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. The evening will feature performances from Sarah McLachlan and Allison Russell in tribute to Mitchell.

Additionally, emerging talents Mico and Sofia Camara from Toronto have been announced as performers at the Junos, alongside breakout artist Cameron Whitcomb. The lineup also includes Arkells from Hamilton, The Beaches and Daniel Caesar from Toronto, and William Prince from Winnipeg.

The event will be hosted by Mae Martin and feature presenters such as Begonia, Billy Talent, Melanie Fiona, and Sarah Nurse and Renata Fast from PWHL and Team Canada Olympic hockey. A select number of awards will be presented during the event, with the majority of winners being announced at the Juno Awards Gala the day before.

CBC, the official media partner for the Juno Awards, will broadcast the show live across Canada on various platforms, including CBC-TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, CBC Listen, and globally on CBCMusic.ca/junos and CBC Music’s YouTube page.
