Legendary rock band Rush has teased a special event at the 2026 Juno Awards, set to happen in Hamilton this Sunday. In a newsletter to fans, the band hinted at a unique moment with Geddy & Alex and included a link to purchase Juno tickets on March 29.
Last fall, Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson revealed plans for a 2026 tour. This tour will feature Anika Nilles, who is stepping in as the drummer following the passing of Neil Peart in 2020. Nilles, a talented German drummer known for her popular YouTube channel and past collaborations with Jeff Beck, impressed Lee during a previous tour.
While no specific details were disclosed, if Rush performs at the Juno Awards, it will be the first opportunity for fans to witness the current lineup before their upcoming world tour named Fifty Something. The tour commences in Los Angeles in June, with multiple shows in Toronto at Scotiabank Arena in August, and stops in Vancouver and Edmonton in December.
Rush, originating from Toronto in 1968, has a rich history, releasing numerous successful albums over the years. Their latest release, “Grace Under Pressure: Super Deluxe,” includes a renowned 1984 concert at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens, considered a highlight of the band’s musical prowess by many fans.
Having won 10 Juno Awards in total, including the inaugural award for best hard rock/metal album in 1991, Rush continues to be a celebrated icon in the music industry. CBC Music has reached out to the band for additional comments.
