The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame will induct The Tragically Hip, Feist, Roch Voisine, and Loverboy songwriters Mike Reno and Paul Dean at Toronto’s Massey Hall on Sept. 26. Celebrated for their iconic hits like “Bobcaygeon” and “Ahead By a Century,” The Tragically Hip expressed their gratitude for the recognition while remembering their late bandmate Gord Downie.
Feist, known for songs like “1234” and “My Moon My Man,” shared her perspective on songwriting, emphasizing the ongoing conversation it provides. Reno and Dean, creators of Loverboy’s popular tracks such as “Working for the Weekend,” reflected on the emotional impact and enduring resonance of their music.
Voisine, renowned for hits like “Hélène” and “Always Be There,” expressed his honor at joining the hall of fame alongside his musical influences. Notable past inductees include Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell.
Tickets for the induction celebration can be purchased starting April 29 at 10 a.m. E.T. through Massey Hall. The event will also be livestreamed on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and Prime Video for a wider audience to enjoy.
