The Montreal Victoire dominated the Minnesota Frost with a 4-0 victory in Professional Women’s Hockey League action at Place Bell. Ann-Renée Desbiens recorded her fourth shutout of the season, making 17 saves. Maureen Murphy, Maggie Flaherty, Dara Greig, and Laura Stacey all contributed to Montreal’s win, with Hayley Scamurra providing two assists.

This triumph marked the Victoire’s fifth consecutive win and their eighth victory in the last nine games. Despite being at the bottom of the standings on January 4, Montreal now leads the PWHL with 33 points, one point ahead of Boston, who has two games in hand.

Nicole Hensley made 29 saves for the Frost in their first game post-Olympic break. Montreal took an early lead with quick goals in the first period. Flaherty and Greig found the back of the net before Murphy and Stacey extended the lead further.

The game saw Montreal’s power play efficiency, with the team going 0 for 2, while Minnesota struggled on their power plays, going 0 for 4. Montreal’s captain, Marie-Philip Poulin, returned from injury, contributing with an assist, while Minnesota missed their captain, Kendall Coyne Schofield, who was on long-term injured reserve.

The Frost will face the Sceptres next, playing against them twice, while Montreal heads to Toronto for their upcoming match.
