The event, held at the 17,000-seat Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, was more about entertainment than making a statement on gender equality.

Kyrgios’ participation in the match raised eyebrows given his past legal issues, including an incident involving his ex-girlfriend in 2021 and his previous controversial stance on equal pay in tennis.
