This win marked the Charge’s second regulation victory and extended their winning streak to four games. Alongside Jenner’s goals, Emily Clark, Sarah Wozniewicz, and Kateřina Mrázová also contributed goals for Ottawa, with Gwyneth Philips making 24 saves. Jenner sealed the win with an empty-net goal with less than three minutes left.
For the Frost, Kelly Pannek and Britta Curl-Salemme scored, with Maddie Rooney stopping 17 shots. Ottawa took the lead early in the first period with a backdoor tap-in goal by Jenner. The Frost equalized with a power-play goal early in the second period. Ottawa then surged ahead with three goals in a short span, including a standout goal by Clark, a goal by Wozniewicz, and a power-play goal by Mrázová.
Minnesota managed to score late in the period, but Ottawa’s strong performance held off any further comeback attempts. Ottawa’s speed and aggressive play in the offensive zone troubled Minnesota, leading to the Charge’s dominance. Notably, Clark’s goal marked her first point of the season, while Philips crucially made two key saves in the third period to preserve Ottawa’s lead.
Looking ahead, Ottawa will face the Vancouver Goldeneyes next, while Minnesota is set to compete against the Montreal Victoire on Sunday.
