Marie-Philip Poulin netted her second goal in overtime, propelling the Montreal Victoire to a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Frost in Professional Women’s Hockey League play on Sunday. The thrilling game took place in front of a packed crowd of 10,172 at Place Bell.
Poulin showcased her skill by maneuvering through the Minnesota defense before scoring with a backhand shot past goaltender Maddie Rooney. This goal not only secured the win for Montreal but also extended Poulin’s point streak to five games, a career-best for the talented player.

Abby Roque also found the back of the net for Montreal, with Poulin providing the assist on the goal, resulting in a three-point performance for Roque. Ann-Renee Desbiens, the Montreal goaltender, made 19 saves to contribute to the team’s victory.
On the other side, Mae Batherson and Kendall Coyne Schofield scored for Minnesota, with Rooney making an impressive 35 saves in her second consecutive start. The game was forced into overtime due to two late goals in the third period.
Coyne Schofield’s eighth goal of the season gave Minnesota a 2-1 lead with only 1:50 left on the clock. However, with the extra attacker, Roque managed to tip in Poulin’s pass from the side of the net with just 28.7 seconds remaining in regulation, tying the game at 2-2.
Batherson opened the scoring for Minnesota with a shot from the left circle, beating Desbiens for her second goal of the season early in the second period.
