Back in 2015, Jesse Jia-Bei Zhu left British Columbia with some legal troubles, including a jail sentence and a significant court judgment. These issues stemmed from his failed attempt to dominate the global bull semen industry. Fast forward nearly ten years, and Zhu’s name is making headlines in the U.S. for his involvement in peculiar and concerning activities related to biolabs in California and Nevada.

Authorities recently discovered a suspected laboratory in a Las Vegas residence that Zhu had suggested as his living quarters while awaiting trial for distributing faulty COVID-19 tests across the country. However, Zhu, a dual citizen of China and Canada, was denied release and remains in jail since his 2023 arrest following the finding of another lab in Fresno County, California, housing test mice and vials of various substances.

Zhu, who maintains his innocence, faces challenges from XY LLC, a corporate giant seeking over $270 million in judgments for stealing bull sexing technology. This legal battle traces back to Zhu’s earlier involvement in the bull semen industry.

Court evidence from past trials sheds light on Zhu’s current predicaments. “The law is strong,” Zhu once stated in an email cited in court rulings against him, “But the outlaws are ten times stronger.” These words reflect his ongoing legal battles in both Canada and the U.S., as detailed in court documents.

The legal proceedings in Canada raise concerns about Zhu’s business dealings and his ties to government grants that have been viewed as potentially fraudulent. Zhu’s journey from China to Canada in 1988, his subsequent activities in the U.S., and his departure from Canada in 2015 are highlighted in court records.

Following a series of legal disputes with XY LLC involving technology theft and subsequent defiance of court orders, Zhu faced mounting legal challenges, culminating in multi-million dollar judgments against him. His ventures into new business entities and plans to market technology in China further complicated his legal woes.

An alarming discovery in California in 2023 revealed a biological lab operated by Zhu, under the alias David He. The lab contained various biological substances, raising concerns about potential cross-border pathogen transport. Subsequent charges against Zhu included the unauthorized sale of COVID-19 test kits across the U.S.

Recent developments linking Zhu to a biolab in Las Vegas have sparked further investigations. Law enforcement actions in Las Vegas and California have shed light on Zhu’s involvement in these operations. Despite these connections, Zhu’s lawyer has denied his direct involvement in the Las Vegas case.

XY LLC continues its legal pursuits against Zhu in various jurisdictions, aiming to enforce court judgments related to technology theft. Zhu’s ongoing legal battles and attempts to challenge court orders highlight the complexities of his legal entanglements with the company.
