Niagara Falls is set to be the final destination in an upcoming nationwide tour to celebrate the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Canada Celebrates Tour will traverse the country, making stops in 34 communities designated to host events featuring live game viewings, musical performances, and a variety of culinary offerings. FIFA’s objective with this tour is to unite soccer enthusiasts, fostering a sense of national pride and camaraderie through the sport.

The tour, as announced by FIFA last week, is scheduled to commence on June 1 and will continue throughout the tournament until the championship match in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19. Divided into two segments, the tour will visit communities in each province and one territory, culminating in two-day celebrations in Niagara Falls and Brampton, Ontario.

Vittorio Montagliani, FIFA Vice-President and Concacaf President, expressed the significance of extending the FIFA World Cup 2026 experience to communities nationwide, emphasizing the historic nature of this initiative for Canadian residents. The tournament, beyond its matches in Toronto and Vancouver, is anticipated to leave a lasting impact on Canadian soccer, serving as an inspiration for future generations and fostering long-term growth within the sport.

Toronto and Vancouver are among the 16 cities slated to host a total of 104 games during the expanded 48-team tournament spanning across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Additional specifics regarding the events in each community will be disclosed by FIFA at a later date.

FIFA recently launched a nationwide event in Vancouver, commencing with the unveiling of the FIFA trophy tour. The tour, featuring the prestigious trophy typically housed at the FIFA Museum in Zurich, will journey through various Canadian cities including Calgary, Winnipeg, Montreal, Halifax, Ottawa, and Toronto before concluding on May 26.
