Calder emphasized the strong relationship between Point Roberts and Delta, B.C., as well as the broader support from Metro Vancouver and the province. He highlighted the essential provision of water and electricity by Greater Vancouver, which sustains Point Roberts economically and emotionally.

Wheeler’s affinity for Canada extends to her support for Canadian media, including CBC Listen, which provided her with emotional comfort during challenging times. She expressed her commitment to boycotting American goods and vacations in solidarity with Canada.
An online poll conducted by Angus Reid from January 10 to 13, 2025, revealed that a significant majority of Americans hold a favorable view of Canada. The survey also highlighted Americans’ perception of Canada as a valued partner or ally, with most respondents opposing Canada becoming a U.S. state.
The poll, involving
