Canadian freestyle skier Cassie Sharpe returned to the top of the X Games podium on Friday night with a SuperPipe gold medal in Aspen, Colo.
Sharpe, who also won the title in 2019 and 2016, earned 88.33 points at Buttermilk Mountain for her first victory since returning to competition in September.
The 32-year-old from Comox, B.C., was competing at her first X Games since 2021. She made her comeback to the sport after taking a two-season break following the birth of her daughter, Louella, in 2023.

Calgary’s Amy Fraser joined Sharpe on the podium after earning bronze with a score of 84.66, finishing behind China’s Li Fanghui (86.66).
Reigning Olympic champion Eileen Gu of China was unable to compete due to an injury sustained in a fall during the women’s street style final earlier Friday.
Sharpe is a two-time Olympic medallist in women’s halfpipe, winning gold at PyeongChang 2018 and silver at Beijing 2022.
Sharpe captured her first medal since her hiatus on Dec. 21 with bronze at a halfpipe World Cup at Copper Mountain, Colo. She has her sights set on the world championships in March in St. Moritz, Switzerland, and the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics.
The Canadian freeskiers are set to compete on home snow next month at a World Cup stop in Calgary (Feb. 14-16).
