Céline Dion has made a return to the music scene with the release of a new single on Friday. The song, titled “Dansons,” is a soft and romantic French-language ballad that translates to “Let’s dance” in English. Accompanying the single is a music video filled with romantic scenes set in Paris, showcasing couples dancing freely in public spaces.

This release comes ahead of Dion’s upcoming series of 16 shows at the Paris La Défense Arena from September 12 to October 17, confirming her comeback after a period of absence from the stage. Speculation about her return was sparked by mysterious signs in Paris featuring lyrics from Dion’s well-known songs like “My Heart Will Go On” and “The Power of Love.”

“Dansons,” written by renowned songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman, is Dion’s first French-language release in over a decade and her first original song in years. Her previous release was in 2023 for the film “Love Again.” Dion and Goldman have a history of successful collaborations, including her 2016 album “Encore un soir” and the 1995 record “D’eux,” which remains the best-selling French-language album of all time.

Dion had to cancel her Courage world tour in 2023 due to health issues related to stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that impacts her ability to sing. Following the tour postponement in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dion made a public singing comeback in July 2024 by performing at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris and later at a Riyadh fashion show honoring designer Elie Saab’s 45-year career.
