Cloey Uddenberg netted the decisive goal in the 34th minute, propelling AFC Toronto, the current leaders of the Northern Super League, to a 2-1 victory over Calgary Wild FC on Saturday. The goal by Uddenberg gave Toronto (15-6-3) a 2-0 lead before Jorian Baucom scored for Calgary (7-14-2) just before the end of the first half. Kaylee Hunter also found the back of the net for Toronto in the 19th minute.
Toronto, riding a six-game unbeaten streak (4-0-2), has not suffered a loss since August 17 when they were defeated 1-0 by Vancouver. Conversely, Calgary has faced defeat in six of their last seven matches, with their last victory coming on August 16, a 1-0 win against Halifax.
Up next, Toronto will face Montreal at home on Sunday, October 19, while Calgary is set to host Halifax the following Saturday.
