Concerns circulate about foreign farmland ownership

Foreign ownership of Saskatchewan farmland is a concern for some as land prices continue to increase and rural communities dwindle. 

In its most recent report, the provincial auditor told the government it must strengthen screening to ensure Canadian ownership.

Currently, only Canadian citizens, corporations, and permanent residents are allowed to purchase rural land in Saskatchewan.
