Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski and her doubles partner Erin Routliffe from New Zealand have decided to end their partnership on the professional tennis circuit. The duo achieved success by clinching three doubles titles in 2025, emerging victorious in tournaments held in Stuttgart, Cincinnati, and at the prestigious U.S. Open.
Reflecting on their journey, Dabrowski took to Instagram, expressing their shared experiences of “titles, tears, and triumphs,” highlighting the emotional rollercoaster they had navigated. She emphasized the closure of their business collaboration while affirming the continuation of their friendship beyond the court.
Despite Routliffe representing New Zealand in competitions, it is noteworthy that she also holds Canadian citizenship and had previously competed for Canada. The pair initially joined forces in 2023, securing their maiden Grand Slam victory at the U.S. Open that same year, marking a significant milestone in their careers.
While the official announcement confirming their split was made recently, it was noted that Dabrowski and Routliffe had started playing with different partners towards the conclusion of the previous season. However, they reunited for the WTA Finals before parting ways as a team.
