Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime has secured a spot in the final of the European Open after defeating Belgium’s Raphael Collignon 7-6 (2), 6-4 in the semifinals of the tennis tournament. Auger-Aliassime showcased a strong performance with eight aces, one double fault, and a 78% first-serve points won rate. He capitalized on one of his three break-point opportunities during the one-hour and 45-minute match. In contrast, Collignon, despite hitting five aces, struggled with four double faults and did not have any break-point chances in the match.

Auger-Aliassime, seeded second, will now face off against third-seeded Jiri Lehecka from Czechia in the final on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in another tennis event, Canada’s Denis Shapovalov faced a defeat in the semifinals of the Stockholm Open, falling 6-3, 6-4 to Norway’s Casper Ruud. Shapovalov, seeded third, managed six aces and four double faults, converting one of his five break-point opportunities. On the other hand, Ruud, the second seed, had two aces and double faults each, converting three out of six break-point chances.
