American media personality Kim Kardashian disclosed that she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm, as per reports from U.S. media outlets on Thursday. The revelation came as part of the teaser for the seventh season of her reality show, “The Kardashians,” which recently premiered on Hulu. Following an MRI, doctors identified a “little aneurysm,” suggesting that stress might have contributed to the condition. Kardashian specifically mentioned the stress she experienced post her divorce from musician Ye (formerly Kanye West) in 2022, emphasizing that despite the split, they share four children together.
While Kardashian has previously endorsed full body MRI scans, some medical experts caution that these scans may not be universally beneficial. It remains unclear whether Kardashian is exhibiting any symptoms related to the aneurysm, as her representatives have not responded to requests for comment.
A brain aneurysm involves the enlargement or bulging of blood vessels in the brain, which can lead to a brain bleed if ruptured, known as a hemorrhagic stroke. According to the Mayo Clinic, small brain aneurysms are often incidental findings during diagnostic tests and are generally not life-threatening.
Although stress is not commonly cited as a direct cause of brain aneurysms, it can contribute to conditions like high blood pressure, which is a known risk factor for aneurysms, according to Johns Hopkins.
In addition to her role as a lawyer in the Hulu series “Alls Fair,” Kardashian has dedicated the past year to completing her Law Office Study Program as part of her aspiration to become a trial lawyer. Earlier this year, she provided testimony in the trial of a group known as the “grandpa robbers,” who were accused of stealing millions of dollars’ worth of jewelry from her at gunpoint during Paris Fashion Week in 2016.
