Marineland, once a thriving tourist attraction in Ontario’s Niagara region, has faced a tumultuous decline. Known for its interactive experiences with beluga whales, dolphins, and orcas, along with thrilling shows and rides, the park was a family favorite.

However, over the years, Marineland has been embroiled in controversies surrounding alleged animal abuse. This decline has led to the closure of the park to the public, leaving behind 30 beluga whales and other animals. Marineland has expressed the need for financial support or new homes for the whales, as a last resort, they may have to euthanize them.

Canadian Press journalist Liam Casey has extensively covered this ongoing story, shedding light on the fate of the whales and the implications for similar parks like Marineland.
