Toronto police issued an update confirming the discovery of Andrew Sutton, a missing 29-year-old man, who was found deceased, according to a family member’s social media post shared with CBC News.
Andrew Sutton, a husband and father, has been missing for over a week since he left his residence in the east end of Toronto. Last seen on February 16 near Danforth and Coxwell Avenues around 5 a.m., Toronto police have been actively searching for him. Const. Cindy Chung, the police spokesperson, expressed the community’s concerns over Andrew’s disappearance and assured ongoing investigative efforts, including ground searches and pursuit of leads.
His wife, Maddison Sutton, revealed in an interview with CBC Toronto that Andrew might be experiencing a mental health crisis, raising safety concerns. Andrew, employed as a bartender at The Keg Mansion, failed to report for work on February 16, triggering worries among his loved ones.
Maddison disclosed that Andrew left after an argument on the morning of February 16, stating he was going to his sister’s house but never arrived. Despite efforts to reach him, his phone remains off, and there have been no financial transactions on his cards. Maddison emphasized that Andrew’s sudden disappearance is uncharacteristic, describing him as a caring father and a kind-hearted individual.
Following his disappearance, Maddison reported him missing to the police and sought assistance from the community, resulting in the widespread placement of missing person posters featuring Andrew. Surveillance footage captured him walking across Danforth Avenue, yet its authenticity has not been confirmed by the police.
With the support of the community and a growing GoFundMe campaign to aid with expenses during the search, Maddison remains hopeful for Andrew’s safe return. Described as 5 foot 10, 180 lbs., with distinctive features, Andrew was last seen wearing specific clothing items. Concerns for his well-being persist, and anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
