Olympic big air medalist Tess Ledeux has decided to withdraw from the upcoming Milano Cortina Winter Games due to ongoing recovery from a concussion. The French freestyle skier, who secured a silver medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2018, has been out of competition since sustaining a crash during a World Cup event in March last year.

As a former world champion, Ledeux expressed her disappointment in having to sit out the entire season to prioritize her recovery. In a social media announcement, she acknowledged the challenging decision to halt her season, emphasizing the importance of listening to medical advice in such situations.

Initially hopeful for a quick recovery, Ledeux continued to experience symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, and dizziness, leading her to seek input from various specialists. She recognized the complexity of distinguishing between physical and mental injuries, ultimately concluding that her well-being must take precedence over competition.

Despite her setback, the determined 24-year-old remains optimistic about the future, setting her sights on the 2030 Olympics in France. Ledeux’s resilience and commitment to her health underscore the athlete’s determination to overcome her current challenges and return stronger in the years to come.
