One person charged with cocaine trafficking after RCMP search of Yellowknife apartment

Yellowknife RCMP say they’ve charged a man, 61, with drug trafficking after searching an apartment on Friday.

Police seized over $8000 in cash, a pistol, substances used in drug production and drug paraphernalia during the search at the Yellownife apartment, RCMP said in a Sunday news release.

The man has been charged with trafficking cocaine, RCMP said.

He has also been charged with possession of property obtained through crime and possession of a firearm contrary to a court order, police said.

The search was part of a drug investigation conducted by Yellowknife RCMP’s general investigation section, police said.

Police said no one was injured during the search and the investigation remains ongoing.
