The Rock League has revealed the team lineups and names for the upcoming debut in April 2026. The Curling Group, the owner of the newest professional mixed curling team league, has also introduced the general managers who will oversee each team in its inaugural season.
The competition will showcase six global franchises, with Canadian curlers Rachel Homan and Brad Jacobs leading separate teams. These two athletes will also captain their respective Canadian teams at the Olympic Winter Games in Italy in February.
The league’s original six franchises consist of two from Canada – Maple United and Shield Curling Club, the USA’s Frontier Curling Club, two from Europe, and one from the Asia-Pacific region. Each team comprises five women and five men, making the Rock League the first truly mixed-gender professional sports league in the world, as stated by the Curling Group.
Jennifer Jones, a renowned Canadian curler and advisor to the Rock League, expressed that building these rosters was an opportunity to showcase the global talent and diversity within the sport of curling. The goal was to create competitive and entertaining teams that reflect their regions while ensuring a fair playing field for the league’s inaugural season.
The full rosters for the teams are as follows:
– Alpine Curling Club (Europe) led by Alina Pätz
– Frontier Curling Club (USA) captained by Korey Dropkin
– Maple United (Canada) under the leadership of Rachel Homan
– Northern United (Europe) with Bruce Mouat as captain
– Shield Curling Club (Canada) led by Brad Jacobs
– Typhoon Curling Club (Asia-Pacific) with Chinami Yoshida as captain
Each team’s roster includes a mix of talented female and male curlers, showcasing the depth and skill within the sport. The lineups set the stage for an exciting new chapter in the world of curling.
