American skier Mikaela Shiffrin showcased her dominance in the Alpine Ski World Cup slalom race in Levi, Finland, setting the tone for the upcoming Olympic season. The 30-year-old outperformed her competitors by a significant margin, securing her ninth victory in Levi and marking her 102nd World Cup win.
On her way to victory, Shiffrin posted the fastest times in both runs, finishing 1.66 seconds ahead of her closest rival. Albanian skier Lara Colturi celebrated her 19th birthday by clinching the second spot, while German skier Emma Aicher earned her first career World Cup slalom podium by finishing third.
Unfortunately, Canadian skiers Sarah Bennett, Kiki Alexander, Arianne Forget, Amelia Smart, and Ali Nullmeyer did not qualify for the second run. Shiffrin’s exceptional performance in Levi solidified her reputation as one of the top contenders in the sport.
