Shopify has announced a new partnership with OpenAI that will enable Shopify merchants to offer their products through ChatGPT. This collaboration between the Canadian e-commerce software company and the U.S. tech giant aims to streamline the sales process for merchants.

Through this partnership, hundreds of millions of products from Shopify merchants will be made easily accessible in a format that can be understood by artificial intelligence. With this integration, when users seek recommendations from ChatGPT, the chatbot will have access to the inventory of Shopify merchants and can showcase products for immediate purchase.

The seamless integration ensures that potential customers will not be redirected to external links or websites when interested in purchasing a product. Instead, all orders resulting from ChatGPT recommendations will flow directly into Shopify’s software, simplifying the purchasing process for both merchants and customers.
