All Catholic and public schools are closed on Thursday as the London area digs itself out from an overnight snowstorm.Â
A low pressure system brought a total of 10 centimetres of snow to the London International Airport, said Environment Canada meteorologist Daniel Sheldon. Areas further east saw considerably more snow as ice pellets and freezing rain limited amounts in the London area.Â
“Starting out this morning, remaining snow is very light and there might be a little freezing drizzle mixed in,” said Sheldon. “There could be a little bit of local blowing snow and a little bit of flurry activity through tonight, but amounts don’t look overly significant.”Â

All school with the London District Catholic School Board and Thames Valley District School Board in London and Elgin, Middlesex and Oxford counties are closed for the day.Â
The Environment Canada forecast is calling for up to two more centimetres of snow for the day, with a risk of freezing drizzle in the morning. The temperature will fall from a high of minus two to minus six in the afternoon.Â
