A California court upheld rapper Tory Lanez’s guilty verdict for shooting a gun at Megan Thee Stallion. The 32-year-old Canadian’s appeal was denied by a three-judge panel from the California 2nd District Court of Appeal. Lanez was convicted in December 2022 on three felony charges, including assault with a semiautomatic firearm and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

During the trial, Megan testified that Lanez fired a gun at her feet after leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s home in July 2020. She suffered injuries requiring surgery to remove bullet fragments. Months later, she publicly identified Lanez as the shooter.

Lanez, also known as Daystar Peterson, can seek a review from the California Supreme Court. He is currently serving a 10-year sentence at the California Men’s Colony near San Luis Obispo. Lanez, a prominent figure in the music industry, started his career in 2009 with mixtapes and later achieved success with top 10 albums on the Billboard charts.

Lanez’s legal team did not respond to the court’s ruling, and Megan’s representatives have not provided a comment on the matter. Lanez was relocated to the California Men’s Colony following an incident where he was stabbed by another inmate at California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi.
