Savolainen opened the scoring for the Charge at 10:12 in the first period off a rebound from a Peyton Hemp shot. Meixner extended Ottawa’s lead to 2-0 at 5:07 in the third period, beating Campbell on the glove side. Jaques got Vancouver on the board at 11:13, showcasing a skilled move to get past Hemp and score past Brooke Hobson. Jenner’s empty-net goal at 18:35 turned out to be the game-winner, with Karvinen responding for Vancouver just 23 seconds later. Leslie sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with 24 seconds left on the clock.
The Goldeneyes have struggled on the road this season, securing only one win in five away games. In upcoming matches, the Charge will face the Boston Fleet in Halifax, while the Goldeneyes will play against the Victoire in Montreal on Sunday.
