A Place In The Sun star Leah Charles-King has given an insight into filming the Channel 4 travel show. The TV presenter, 32, recently recalled one terrifying moment where she was ‘trapped’ in a bathroom during filming.
Giving viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into her job, Leah took to X and shared a clip as she admitted that it took 30 minutes for crew to realise that she was ‘missing’.
The video started off with a view of the door and she could be heard saying: “I’m trapped in the bathroom. Hello.” Leah then flips the camera to her face and continues: “Seriously I can’t get out.”
Alongside the clip, she wrote: ”This was the luxe property where I got TRAPPED in the bathroom for 30 minutes before anyone even realised I was missing!!!! #aplaceinthesun.”
It didn’t take long for fans to share their reaction in the comment section as one fan said: “That’s your card for Would I Lie To You? sorted.”
Leah replied: “Good call! Saving this if I’m ever asked, cos my brain is a sieve.”
Making light of the situation another commented: “That very calm ‘hello’”. Alongside three laughing emojis Leah said: “I’d be screaming for hourssssssss.”
It comes as Leah previously opened up about her years-long struggle with mental health.
The former singer from ’90s girl group Kleshay experienced a series of distressing symptoms that led her to a point of despair, feeling suicidal and depressed.
Despite being prescribed antidepressants by her GP, Leah found no relief. In a desperate moment, she contemplated ending her life from an eighth-floor window, but was thankfully talked down by a friend.
Speaking to the Express at the time, she recalled: “If I didn’t get help today, I knew what I was going to do and so I wrote this note and I plucked up the last bit of strength that I had to go into what I believed was my final battle.
“I remember standing in this queue in tears – silent tears – and when I got to the front of the queue to reception, I just passed this note across the desk [saying] ‘I’m suicidal and I need help now. If you send me home, I’m going to kill myself’. It was that blunt and obviously, it was all panic stations.”
