The recent heavy snowfall that led to school closures on Monday in Toronto will not extend to Tuesday, as both the Toronto District School Board and Toronto Catholic District School Boards have announced that schools will reopen. Despite the record-breaking snowfall, efforts have been made to clear the snow from school premises and administrative areas, allowing for the return of students and staff.

While schools will be operational, some challenges may persist due to the substantial amount of snow and the ongoing snow clearing operations by the TDSB and City of Toronto. Parents and caregivers are advised to allocate extra time for travel to account for potentially difficult conditions around school facilities.

The TCDSB also confirmed the reopening of its schools on Tuesday, with buses operating but potential delays expected. Child-care services and before and after-school programs will resume, although permits are canceled for the day.

Furthermore, the York Region District has announced that its schools will also be open on Tuesday. Additionally, the 39 child care centers managed by the City of Toronto will operate from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., as communicated through a social media update by the city.
