A photograph of the current U.S. President, Donald Trump, previously removed from the collection of documents associated with Jeffrey Epstein and disclosed by the Department of Justice, has been reinstated following a thorough inspection that confirmed the absence of any Epstein victims in the image, as reported by the department.
The particular photo displayed a desk scene with an open drawer revealing a picture of Trump among several women, prompting the Southern District of New York to flag it for further scrutiny to safeguard potential victims.
According to a statement released on Sunday by the Justice Department on X, it was concluded after the review that there is no indication of any Epstein victims being present in the photograph, and thus it has been reissued without any modifications or redactions.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche explained earlier on Sunday that the photo had been temporarily removed due to concerns regarding the women depicted in it, clarifying that the decision was unrelated to President Trump, as stated during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press with Kristen Welker.”

The Department of Justice unveiled a multitude of documents on Friday linked to the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender who passed away in custody in 2019. However, the release has faced criticism, including from some Republicans, due to extensive redactions and a scarcity of documents mentioning Trump, despite his widely known association with Epstein.
During an interview with ABC News on Sunday, Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries called for a comprehensive investigation into the reasons behind the incomplete document disclosure compared to the legal requirements.
As reported by the New York Times, NPR, and The Associated Press, up to 16 photos, including the desk drawer image featuring Trump, were taken down from the Justice Department website on Saturday, although Reuters could not independently verify these removals.
The Justice Department stated on Sunday that it acted cautiously in response to requests from alleged victims and their legal representatives to remove certain information.
President Trump, who has denied any involvement in Epstein’s illicit activities, has not faced any accusations of misconduct.
