Drake has unveiled his plan to captivate the world with his upcoming album, commencing the grand reveal by transforming the CN Tower into a spectacular icy display. Just as hinted on Instagram earlier that Thursday, the CN Tower was adorned with dazzling icy blue projections at 9:45 p.m. in celebration of his latest album, “Iceman.” Alongside the release of “Iceman” at midnight, Drake surprised fans with two additional albums: “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour.”

While the tower was illuminated, Drake treated fans to a visual album livestream on YouTube, combining aerial views of downtown Toronto with music videos showcasing unreleased tracks from “Iceman.” The livestream culminated in a stunning 10-minute fireworks show along Toronto’s waterfront, illuminating the city’s skyline.

Throughout the stream, viewers caught glimpses of Drake inside the CN Tower, strolling through city hall, and cruising the nighttime streets of Toronto. In a poignant voiceover, Drake shared personal revelations, including his father’s cancer diagnosis and reflections on his past conflicts, notably with Kendrick Lamar.

Last November, Drake disclosed to Complex Magazine his unconventional approach to album releases, opting for theatrical livestream events over traditional methods due to his desire for acting challenges. The recent spectacle follows the buzz created by a massive ice sculpture erected by Drake in downtown Toronto in April, hinting at the album’s release date concealed within. As fans eagerly deciphered clues within the sculpture, one lucky individual uncovered a folder revealing the May 15 release date, subsequently confirmed by Drake.

The buildup to “Iceman” began in 2025 with a series of livestream episodes on YouTube. The fourth episode, held on Thursday night, took over Toronto’s waterfront, featuring fireworks at the Harbourfront Centre and the mesmerizing CN Tower projections. Previous episodes showcased Drake in various settings, including a warehouse and driving around Toronto, teasing fans with snippets of new music.

Despite a highly publicized feud with Kendrick Lamar in 2024, Drake has yet to reclaim a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. However, his collaboration with Partynextdoor in 2025 on “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U” saw the breakout single “Nokia” reaching No. 2 on the charts, showcasing Drake’s enduring popularity.

The artist’s innovative album rollout strategies and captivating performances continue to captivate audiences worldwide, setting the stage for the highly anticipated release of “Iceman.”
