Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen and the Artemis II crew were warmly welcomed at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) headquarters following their voyage to the far side of the moon. Addressing a jubilant audience in Longueuil, Quebec, Hansen expressed gratitude to those present for their contributions to the successful mission.
The 10-day expedition led Hansen, mission commander Reid Wiseman, and fellow astronauts Victor Glover and Christina Koch to a point farther from Earth than any previous human expedition. Koch highlighted that both she and Glover had received training in Canada, emphasizing that the CSA held a special place in their hearts.
During their visit, the crew engaged in a question-and-answer session with Industry Minister Mélanie Joly and members of the public, accompanied by Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jenni Gibbons, who was involved in the NASA Mission Control Center team. Wiseman underscored the diverse perspectives brought by the international makeup of the Artemis II crew, noting how this unity strengthened the mission and promoted global cooperation.
